good recap blog Jan

there shouldn't be any hate, and that includes Grabner, I think the Rangers PK is 2nd overall so far.

With the Rangers speed & offense so far there's no game they are out of. Very surprised of Pirri's play. He was an afterthought (by me) & he is really playing well.

For all the Grabner hate by some on this site

find it very hard to figure out why people dont like this guy. hes a 4th liner with top level speed. great on the PK, has a very solid all around game.

it's not like we didnt know he had stone hands.

news flash: if he actually had some handle and could consistently score, he wouldnt be making $1.6m

Nice recap, Jan.
Didn't watch the game and missed Carp's review this morning

The only negative about how great Vesey is playing, is that he's likely to cost $$$ against next years cap...
Guessing his contract is identical, or close, to Hayes' contract 2 years ago:

I missed the first 15 mins of the first period, so I did not see the JT Miller chances or if we had any other good opportunities on net. From that point on to the Nash goal it looked like we were skating in mud.

It looked like it was going to be a frustrating night when on the PP we moved the puck from behind the net up the boards a few times and no one was there. But the fact that we were 2 of 4 in the second on PP showed that we made some adjustments which cannot be said for years past. ZBad has vastly improved our entries by making himself a real option or making the quick and smart play with the puck one he gains the zone. Overall I love how our PK is and hope to see cleaner entries on the PP more consistently by all guys being on the same page with what the opposing PK is showing them.

I thought Klein was horrendous last night only partially taking the turnover to goal into account because Hank should have saved that shot. I thought everyone else was decent with the exception of Mac, who is showing he is fully healthy. One thing that he has been great at is not forcing the shot and putting the pucks wide for deflections.

Pirri man can he shoot! First goal was pretty perfect.

Vesey is impressing me a lot, I thought all the hype he got with his decision was going to force him to press, but he is as cool as a cucumber! Just hope he doesn't hit the rookie wall and burn out later in the season.

Good win - now on to the next!

True but when he signed we all said that would be a nice problem to have, plus a bit early to be concerned about that. If he has a big year, that likely means the team has as well

??? why are the 4th liners always a maligned bunch ....
1st Glass had constant boos & now its Grabner?
i never saw why for either guy... i see them doing the role assigned ..well
Grabner -Fast is a PP combo & 4th line mainstay ... Pirri unleess he's bumped up
for whatever reason...
J T ... has the HAttrick ... of misses !!! he's allover the ice ,jsut have to watch for the blind moves that cause T o;s & goals against ...
Nice to be surprised with team ... one of the bright spots for me.....
Tons of players /lines to be used
1st it was zbad kreids buchny O K sum minor bumps & .......
now its step nash vesey
I saw zbad & zucc as soon as trade was made ..add krieds and watch out
3rd line Hayes J T Buchny can be over the top good .....
4th line has 4 guys now ...
I see Oscar -Fast + Mac rath as part of a trade for the Mac partner we dont have right now.....? G man-Holden Klein- Macrath
can shey play Right side or Mac ... I would love to see Mac -Shey unit ig one can
turn around ? more real is the trade for a Mac partner ...Lindholm is a right D ?

I feel like if Zibinajed could hit the net he could be Ovechkin, he is such an outstanding player in ever facet of the game except shot accuracy

My only worries is Pirri pricing himself out next year ala Poulliot. I would like to keep him for another few years and see what he can do after we see him for a full season. Hope whatever deal gets made doesnt disrupt the team too much.

Wondering where the help on D comes from. Vatanan is a name that keeps coming up but that doesn't help ANA with their cap.

one good thing about Pirri is that he is a RFA next year, arbitration eligible though

Brass definitely had better accuracy but I like the trade and think Zibby is a better choice going forward. Plus he uses the body a bit. I like when he checked that player into the goalie last night. Pretty stong.

He looks like a great fit so far, sometimes it just "clicks" w a team, like Hagelin w Pittsburgh last yr.

oh the trade will never stop being fantastic, I was just saying that if Zibinajed was more accurate with his shot he could be Ovechkin, it's virtually the only thing missing

Jimmy doesnt have the hands of Kevin so it has to be part of his game.

Speaking of hands. Poor JT. Dude could have like 10 g already.
